The beginning of 1986 saw the death of our very own Phil Lynott in England. Tommy Vance immediately broadcast his tribute to Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy as we knew them at the end of the "Thunder and Lightning" tour, Based on their best and most heaviest album to date. The tribute brought an end of an era for Thin Lizzy and so this show was then broadcast early 1986. The BBC WS Rock Salad show in its tribute to Thin Lizzy was broadcast approximately January/Early February. Unfortunately we cannot hear what Tommy had to say about this now but the whole show included the BBC Radio One Live In Concert show, The recording in which came from The Reading Rock Festival from England 1983. These were the best live recordings of Thin Lizzy and Tommy Vance re - broadcast most of the live show on that very day. Just weeks following Phils' death. Thin Lizzy was at that point at their best! I recognised these very recordings which came from the show 'Rock Salad" because of the tremendous feedback at the end of this track....... A very rare recording here of the live performance and it brought an end to another great show from the studios in London.

A regular epic piece to be heard on the airwaves was this one from the "Look at Yourself" album, What better way is there, But to exit on this one. "July Morning" what an absolute classic track! Formed in London in 1967, after a number of line up changes, Original surviving member Mick Box brings the band alive again and to date yet again a few months ago they visited down under Australia, They were very 'eavy .... very 'umble!

A re-release 10 years after of this soundtrack album on record brought us another dimension from David Bowie. On The Friday Rock Show in the UK Tommy Vance played this track. Mick Ronsons guitar leaves your ears bleeding here with his ecstatic solo performance. And you'll find on those 1983 releases during the performance on this track David Bowies' voice echoes somewhat totally wild, it will leave you in another world and beyond. That was the distorted sound the Medium Wave band used bring us in those early days of The Friday Rock Show in England in 1983. and if you did hear those broadcasts in London, And millions of Rock fans would have too in the United Kingdom then you were one of the fortunate ones, Lucky - to hear this transmission going out on the Friday night that became the ten year anniversary of "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" Film release. Absolute Bowie!! "Freak out in a Moonage Daydream....."
